In the wake of the Scott Brown Tsunami, the Democrat Party is on the run, but they are determined to regroup and turn the tides without sacrificing their liberal agenda. In the efforts to beat back the Conservative ascendancy, the Democrats are once again focused on the most liberal state in the union.

Paul Krugman: Idiot, or Morally Bankrupt Liar?
When Democrats are in power, there are no rules. Paul Krugman, a columnist for the rapidly declining New York Times, has recently joined the media chorus visciously castigating Senator Jim Bunning for his attempt to delay a bill until Harry Reid and the Democrat leadership agreed to follow Obama’s “PayGo” order and fund the legislation. The Senator described the bill as non-controversial, and at a mere $10 billion—pocket change to Liberals—it could easily be funded with unspent stimulus dollars. As Bunning put it in his own editorial, “If the Senate cannot find $10 billion to pay for a measure we all support, we will never pay for anything.” At that rate, I guess we should just stop paying taxes altogether and fund everything with deficit spending.
Of course, to Krugman, this couldn’t be about enforcing Senate rules and revealing the “PayGo” sham. No, Jim Bunning is amoral, and hates the unemployed. That’s the message in his editorial. Krugman then cites the “Bunning Blockade” as evidence that: Democrats are reasonable, moral, and care about the underdogs; Republicans have become extremist right-wingers and that is why there is no more bipartisanship in Washington; and the GOP only cares about the “affluent victims of the ‘death-tax.’” He uses these conclusions as a justification for passing ObamaCare through reconciliation.

Renee Ellmers to Announce Congressional Bid
If I had been told during the Obama coronation that in just over a year a nurse from Dunn, NC would be challenging the political establishment and a seven-term incumbent in one of the state’s most liberal districts, I probably wouldn’t have believed it, but that’s exactly what’s slated to happen this afternoon as Congressional hopeful Renee Ellmers launches her campaign for NC-2. I was pleased to take part in a conference call with Mrs. Ellmers last night in which she discussed her upcoming bid. She hit all the major talking points: “Washington is broken,” she says, and she’s an outsider who—unlike our current representation—can help pick up the pieces; she’s against health reforms that aren’t really about care, and her work as a nurse gives her unique insight into the Health Care industry; she understands that perhaps the most important issue facing the U.S. today is our lackluster economy, and unlike Obama and his cronies, she understands the government can’t actually create sustainable, private-sector jobs.

“Biparitsanship” Returns
Apparently Republicans aren’t the only ones who have been reminded of the power of 41. Scott Brown’s victory in arguably the most liberal state in the union has sent a shock-wave through the Democrat party. It appears that once again Washington can hear its employer, the citizens. It’s also amazing how fast the left-wing soundtrack has changed. Just days ago, the Democrats were defending their backroom bribery and threatening to ram Health Care through before Brown was seated. After breaking his C-Span promise on the basis that completing his monument was more important than writing quality legislation, after refusing to listen to Republican suggestions or even meet with GOP leaders, are we expected to believe Barack Obama is suddenly willing to compromise? I certainly hope the GOP remembers how it has been treated this past year, and recognizes that if a Republican can be elected in Massachusetts by campaigning on a Conservative platform focused on being the 41st vote against ObamaCare, then cooperation on Health “Reform” or any other parts of Obama’s far-left agenda ought to be off the table.

And the Democrat Spin Begins …
Congratulations to Senator Scott Brown on his victory in America’s Liberal heartland, Massachusetts. The former state senator ran an excellent campaign to replace the late Ted Kennedy, and despite the seemingly insurmountable odds and 30 point deficit in polling last month, he emerged victorious.
The contortions from MSNBC have been incredible as they have attempted to downplay the election and portray Senator Brown as a “moderate” or even slightly “left-of-center” politician. This is an incredible change of heart from the network that just days ago called Senator Brown a “irresponsible, homophobic, racist, reactionary, ex-nude model, teabagging supporter of violence against women and against politicians with whom he disagrees.” They have done everything they can to distance Obama from the race, and pretend this election is not a referendum on his radical, liberal agenda. Unfortunately for their message, most of the people watching MSNBC do so for the entertainment value.
